It's been quite some time since we released a News Update but we have been very busy behind the scenes.

Over recent months we have added online real-time processing of credit cards for reservations enabling you to cut down on the paperwork and speed your debtor collections. The range of credit card processing companies you can chose from means you can operate MyCourts Online virtually anywhere in the world.

We have also integrated Kaba E-Code processing into MyCourts so that when a reservation is made online, your hirer will automatically receive the necessary codes to access the appropriate Kaba enabled access door or gate.

Those clubs or organisations with over 500 members will also note the improved performance of MyCourts. We have been able to cut seconds from the time of selecting the start time to the presentation of the hire screen.

These enhancements have all come from feedback from our valued clients so if you want additional features don't hesitate to email us and we will try to accommodate your requests.

MyCourts Version 8.8 Release

A major new feature introduced in the latest version of MyCourts is the ability to send SMS Text Messages. Once you have signed up with a suitable SMS Gateway provider you will be able to send instant text messages to members from the Membership window and if you have access to MyCourts Administrator - just about anyone. In early course we will be adding automatic SMS Text messaging (as well as emails) to remind hirers of a reservation - this should help reduce no-shows plus allow you to re-book potential unused facilities. We will also be adding the ability to send mass text/email messages in due course.

Adding SMS Text messaging has also facilitated the addition of a new selection criteria in the phone numbers recorded in the Membership window. You will need to specify which phone number is SMS enabled as well as enable SMS messaging for each individual member.

While we were working on the Membership window we also added the ability to record the member's gender. This is becoming increasingly important for identification purposes as people assume names that no longer necessarily reflect their gender.

Recognising that not everyone pays their bills for various reasons, we have added the ability to write-off outstanding debts from the Member's window - Reservations/Sales.

It is now possible to limit the sales for inclusion in the Day Sheet according to the specific cash draw attached to a MyCourts terminal. Ideal for cash balancing if you have more than one MyCourts terminal.

MyCourts previously saved the current state (or view) of various windows however this caused some confusion particularly when changes to data were not saved before the window was closed. This can be very handy to 'power users' so we have now made this an option. The default is disabled.

We were requested to add German to our selection of available languages and that option has now been included.

Online users can now view all their outstanding reservations as well as reservation history. Online users can now also cancel a reservation.

We have also added the ability to print (or export) Courses and Events attendance lists.

The following matters have now been resolved:

Stock Control Management - views fixed
Offline web service - fixed ftp errors
POS Window - optimized window loading time
Duplicate Bookings - re-wrote code to detect when a booking already exists and report it via the Enter New Booking window.
Check for Updates issues.

MyCourts V8.7 Released

Since version 8.6 regular updaters should use the ability to 'Check for Updates' and if there are any available, download and install the individual modules. This will speed up delivery to you of bug fix releases as well as new features that you have requested. If a full update is required then you will be able to download and install that from the new 'Check for Updates' as well. This method also avoids the need to uninstall and then re-install MyCourts.

Version 8.7 includes the ability to enter journal entries allowing you to adjust a member's account balance. You can select whether to pass the contra-entry to a GL account OR transfer the amount to/from another member's account. Just open the member's account and select the Adjustments button from the menu.

It is also now possible to disable any or all POS Equipment for each individual machine that MyCourts is running on. This means that you can still open the electronic cash draw whilst printing to your 'normal' printer.

We have also added the ability to hide the web online 'Make a Booking' panel for any specific time of day or day of the week. This will allow you to control the time of day that a booking can be made for the day being viewed. This is managed via MyCourts Administrator.

Version 8.6.0.0 Released

This version will be a relief to our regular updaters as it now includes the ability to 'Check for Updates' and if there are any available, download and install the individual modules. This will speed up delivery to you of bug fix releases as well as new features that you have requested.

The 'Check for Updates' is available from the Start Menu as well as the MyCourts Main program Help menu and the MyCourts Administrator Support section. Because it will install updates as well as download them, you will need to have Administrator privileges to be able to use this function.

There will always be occasions when a full update will be necessary however the new update function can handle these as well.

You can continue to update MyCourts at any time by downloading the current release version from our web site and running that instead of installing individual modules.

Online web service: We have also moved the online web service location from the database directory to the program directory. If you have configured the online service to run under IIS then you will need to make changes to IIS as well. If you use the MyCourts built-in server then no special action is required on your part - but don't forget to restart the service in MyCourts Administrator.

Your support contract must be current in order to be able to receive updates.

If you need to use the Database Administrator tool, please contact us as a new version will be required to access the database.

Version 8.5.1.0 Released.

Version 8.5.0.0 has now been released and includes a number of improvements requested by our users as well as all known outstanding issues and bug fixes.

We have revisited the code behind accessing the database particularly where MyCourts is networked and have both speeded up processing as well as assisted with avoiding clashes. Network Administrators should note that the database engine relies heavily on the operating systems sharing capabilities to manage access. Therefore, the database should not be accessed directly by MyCourts if used on the physical database server. If MyCourts is to be used on the server machine, the database itself should also be accessed via the shared directory and not the physical directory.

IMPORTANT: We have also moved the local machines configurable setup options (printer, tooltip display etc) to the MyCourts Main Program. Immediately after upgrading MyCourts to Version 8.5.0.0 you must check that the upgrade process has correctly copied these settings for you. From the Main window, select Tools -> Setup for details.

In multi-use networked situations, the facility pages are now correctly updated when a change is made via another instance of MyCourts.

Receipts are now being correctly printed from each workstation. Please see the note above and make sure the printer for that instance of MyCourts is properly selected.

Recurring bookings can now be recorded where the recurring booking's last booking period immediately preceeds the next occupied booking period.

It is important that you note the following before attempting to upgrade:

MyCourts Version 8 has a new database engine and therefore you cannot update Version 7 installations of MyCourts without first obtaining a converted database. Please contact us for instructions. Please also check in the About section of Help to make sure your support contract has not expired.

MyCourts Version 8.4.1

Version 8.4.0 did not have the ability to switch support for Point of Sale equipment (POS printers etc) on or off and some customers were forced to install/uninstall POS for .Net to achieve this.

Version 8.4.1 addresses this issue - see MyCourts Administrator -> Accounting POS -> POS Equipment.

Version 8.4.1.1 was released on 13th May and fixes some minor bugs.

Version 8.4.2.0 was released on 17th May and fixes issues with weekly bookings where the club's closing time extends to the next day.

Version 8.4.0.0 has now been released and includes a number of improvements requested by our users as well as all known outstanding issues and bug fixes.

The list of changes and improvements is again a lengthy one and thanks to all those users that have bought these issues to our attention.

Added a new Member Reservations Policy function to MyCourts Administrator that allows you to restrict/allow your members to make a maximum number of bookings per any given period, number of days before a booking, minimum number of players etc. This function is in addition to any other restrictions or conditions imposed elsewhere in MyCourts and is checked for compliance first. It is disabled by default.
Added the ability for members to select both the language and theme for the online web bookings system. Both these settings are set and retained for each member via cookies.
You can now toggle the display of the code number for all languages in MyCourts Administrator which makes the changing of the default text displayed by MyCourts much simpler. See MyCourts Administrator - Languages.
Reverted the 'Last Booking Starts Time' to the 'Last Booking Finishes' time. MyCourts will now allow bookings to be made up to this period.
Added an option to ignore the 'Last Booking Period' when calculating when the last booking must finish. This is particularly useful for centers open 24 hours per day.
The 'Last Booking Period' can now be set to occur the next day allowing for bookings to be made or extend after midnight.
The booking schedules now extend from the opening to closing times which may not occur on the same day.
Fixed an issue with Normal and Peak Rate hire periods so that MyCourts now correctly records them in the Transactions table.
Member Account refunds charged/reversed to accounts are now recorded in the Day Sheet.
Added Items Sold Details Table to the Accounting - Financial Details section allowing you to quickly view sales details for any item for any selected period.
Fixed error when Member Accounts outstanding balance or available credit calculation was made by MyCourts.
Fixed several other minor bugs.

MyCourts V8.3.1.0 Released

Of importance to users operating MyCourts over LAN's and on more than one computer is the substantial improvement in performance when it comes to recording and deleting reservations. You can expect to see a speed increase of over 50%!! We will be examining all MyCourts code over coming weeks to ensure it is optimized as much as possible.

Optimzed code for recording and deleting reservations.
Fixed error generated when trying to record a casual hirer with more than 20 characters in their first and last names.
Added toggle to check and delete all timeslots previously booked - affects users who have changed the default length of a booking period.
Added option to display the hirer's name in the Offline Web resevation pages.
Added ability to display customized messages to the Online Web Events pages.
Added the ability to limit the legth of a reservation via the Main, Online as well as Offfline booking screens. Also added toggle to allow staff to override this limit.
The Online Web Service is now properly configured when installing MyCourts on the Vista and Win7 Operating Systems where those computers operating systems were not upgraded from Win XP.
Fixed the POS Scanner so that it now adds inventory items to the POS window.
Added ability to deduct inventory items from the POS window using the scanner - hold down the CTRL key when scanning.
Added the hirers name as well as re-cast the format of the POS Printer Receipt.
Fixed error when Member Accounts statements display was selected.
Added ability to re-print any receipt directly from the Accounting -> Sales Details window.
Member Account data can now be printed or exported from MCA.
Form and Menu states (buttons etc) customization is now persisted/retained between sessions.
Added ability to reload customized reports from the MyCourts Reports main window.
Added default header and footer text to some tables when printed/exported. We will add more progressively.
Fixed several other minor bugs.
