MyCourts requires maintenance just like any other database and/or web based service. This maintenance includes packing the database to remove unused space and/or expired or obsolete data as well as clearing old logs of obsolete records. Much of this maintenance is performed in the early hours of the morning by an automatic service that runs on your computer in the background. You should never stop or disable this service as your MyCourts performance will eventually grind to a halt.
You can check that the MCService is running by taking the following steps. The screen captures are from Windows XP however similar steps are used in all versions of Windows:
Click on Start (1) -> Control Panel (2) and then Administrative Tools (3).
Click on Services (1), MCService (2) and ensure that the Startup Type (3) is Automatic and the Service Status is Started.
If the above settings are incorrect, change them and make sure the service is running.
If you do not leave your computer running all the time, the MCService will perform missed events when you do start your computer.
